My Imaginary Ideal Life

Come the month of July, I like to revisit my life and do a check on what I have done so far and what I want to do ahead. Its the month I was born and I love to be re-born every July.
This year , as I complete almost half of my lifespan (considering an average lifespan of 70) , I had this weird thought of what my ideal life should have been . Sometimes I feel I could rewind or re-do or undo some things in life so that I can be a happier person. And Sometimes I feel happy that whatever I have got or gained or lost is what have made me what I am today!
In this post, I attempt an "ideal life" or rather a "happy life" and its ingredients. Well, what makes me a happy person need not be what that makes you a happy person. It may differ. But, I am writing about my "ideal life" .

My imaginary ideal life !

Age 0 to 6 - Playing and getting all the love from parents & people around.
6 to 15 - Go to School where we learning is equivalent to playing and all my talents are well identified and recognized.
16 to 21 - Join College where learning is passion and we decide what we want to learn
21 to 23 - Travelling all over India( or whichever nation u belong to) along with doing small jobs to meet ur own expenses. This will help a person realise his or her true calling. The best learning experience is by travelling and meeting new people.
23 - 25- Do a PG (if needed ) or Start working on a career u wish to.
25 - 29 - Build your career and personal network.
By 30 - Startup or become an entrepreneur.
Before 35 - Scale it up. Work hard and build a successful enterprise(can be a business or an initiative) which runs even if u are holidaying with kids at an island!
By 35 - Get married and have children (if u find someone suitable by then. Otherwise, adopt an orphan) .
36 onwards - Pursue your passion alongside your career and do whatever that makes u happy!
40 - Write a book . Expand ur business globally. Become an expert in your area .
45 - Retire from the necessity of making money. Start mentoring and take part in social initiatives.
55 - once your children are independent, sell all ur assets and get a job in a Cruise ship which travels all over the globe! <3
By 60 - if you still want to continue active professional life - do it. Or else, settle down in the mountains or work for a cause and read books or write and spread love.

Instead, in India, we force our kids to decide their career , their marriage, their life and everything and put the burden of "settling down" before they attempt to even realise their potentials and dreams ! We bind them to our own viewpoints and methods and do not even let them dream :) Freedom is the first step towards Achievement. Let's give it to our kids atleast!

By Freedom, I also mean - Responsible and Sustainable freedom to work towards a Career and life worthy of emulating by others and not the kind of freedom which lacks self-discipline, lack of vision or proper goals.

Disclaimer: the above lifestyle need not appeal to everyone . But , I do what makes me happy. Hence this article! :)
